ACC

The Accident Compensation Corporation came into existence in 1974. The governing legislation has changed several times over the years and changes to the legislation have generally tended to follow changes in government. The current governing legislation is the Accident Compensation Act 2001.

Overall, Declined ACC believes that the ACC has served New Zealand well. That does not always mean all of its decisions are right. ACC is increasingly under pressure to reduce its’ costs. One of the fastest and most effective ways ACC can do this is by reducing entitlements. Such entitlements include surgery, treatment or weekly compensation.

The decisions ACC makes about  providing cover, funding surgery, other treatment or entitlements such as weekly compensation are reviewable: Declined ACC is here to help you through the review process.
